Hi there, was wondering if someone could help me?

We have a Vokera 25HE condensing boiler that was installed a year ago and has been running great. However in the past week we have had a problem with the hot water. It starts off by running hot then goes freezing cold. When i turn the tap off and leave it for a bit i can get some more hot water out but not much.

Would also add that after a few hours of the heating being on twice the boiler has shut down. It all works again when i switch it off and back on again.

Thanks for anyones help on this.

Davy

hi davy,

hot water problem sounds like the plate heat exchanger is blocked that would explain you hot water outlet being hot then cold. regarding you boiler shuting down probebly overheating due to again sludge. if you replaced the boiler and connected it onto an exsisting system 1 year ago i would say its not been flushed out properly. vokeras thermistors tend to be dodgy aswel so it might be worthwhile checking them out. good luck

Trully mate I'd get the installer back for their advice and listen to what they have to say .. if there worth any salt they'll let you know? How many years warranty did you get with your boiler?

im affraid regarding your plate heat exchanger its a replacment job, its not advisible to try cleaning them. regarding your boiler its hard to say what the exact problem is without having a look, if its down to a fault sensor its an easy fix, sludge throughout the system would need powerflushed then id suggest a manaclean filter being fitted to protect the boiler from further damage.

yep diamondgas got it spot on again, installer has to take some resposability, if hes filled out your warrenty im sure you get 2 years with vokera but if the systems not been cleansed properly they may void your two years.

Cheers 🙂 ... good to get back up where warranty and dodge installs may be concerned 🙂
