so , waiting to get a boiler installed via the warmfront scheme , looks as though i am being railroaded into an ideal icos 15 he , not the best by all accounts !!! , anyway , they seem to think it is going to be ok to install onto a dirty system , again this is not the best thing to do , appreciate any advice please 🙂

at the least you want a hot flush with cleaner.

ideal scenario will be a powerflush.

this is the trouble with these schemes - they pay sub contractors peanuts on the basis of getting a lot of them done... hence not doing the job properly.

you get what you pay for matey.

which i assume with warm front is a basic boiler, basic install and a lot of corners cut

The whole warm front scheme is a scandle - I could go on for
ages about it.

Public money correctly considered is now being robbed from
Tax payers and vulnerable people alike by 'national' size
companies instead of going to reputable local ch outfits.

Iguana is one I believe

Wouldnt touch the Ideal boilers with a barge pole. If Ideal have to come out to it in its warranty period and find its not been flushed they,ll void your warranty, parts are big money out of your own pocket

hi mate ive been on w.f scheme installing boilers an full heating for last 5 years. the scheme is really good for pep who are struggling to get a new boiler, there are how ever certain pep who do play the scheme as they do with any government benefits but 90% of the jobs i have done they couldnt get heating and hot water with out the w.f scheme.

as for the power flush on the old system it has to be done as we get inspected by w.f and if the p.h level is to hi we will get a job fail an not get paid till it is correct. the icos system boiler is a good boiler ive fitted everything from raven heat cis boilers to worchester heat only boilers the icos is a good in middle of the road boiler. i fit em on private jobs coz i no i wont get call backs to em.

thanks for that 🙂

You can specify which boiler you wou, they may grumble but you are the customer at the end of the day.
just tell them if hey cant fit what you want then get another fitter from the scheme who will. you may have to pay some towards the difference and you ble to haggle.

i have a dissabled son and i too managed our free system from w.f. they treid to give me an ideal, i told them i wanted a w.b. after the 3rd phone call they gave us what we wanted. they aled to cover the extra by charging me £250 for 3m 22mm feed from the meter. i told them to get real i am a plumber in which they called me back a couple of hours later asking if they could start next week.lol
