Mr La de da

Guys,

I have a WC with a macerator for the toilet and basin which is fine, but I need to add a washine machine. So I am thinking is it possible to get some type of pump/washing machine macerator that can be plumbed into the same waste pipe as the existing macerator? The machine will be in use a fair bit 3 times a day at least.

The pipe goes up for about 3 meters then at least 10 meter horizontally before it drops into the main pipe out. Could do with some advise on the best solution on this?

Thanks in advance.

Mr L

Thanks Mike, do you know if a combi type macerator is made, one that is connected to the toilet and has a washing machine connection into it ?

speak to saniflows they will tell you which macerator to use, ideayl there shouldnt be a horizontal run on any macerator even a slight fall from the highest point is preferableif it within a floor void you should be able to get a fall on it

How far from the macerator is the washing machine? Many macerators have an entry point for a basin waste, maybe someone with more macerator experience than me could say if that could be used? I have zero experience with them as I avoid jobs when I hear the word 'macerator'.

You can't use a macerator designed for a toilet with a washing machine or kitchen sink. It has to be something like a Sanivite. There are pumping stations available but these are much larger and completely different.

Ahh I see, well that shows my lack of macerator knowledge.
Did a quick check of some macerators MI's and found them all similar to the following pic, it looks like they can handle basin/shower wastes, but not dishwashers/washing machines.

Had a look today at the pipe run and it's longer than I had hoped, also there is a metal vent pipe in the way that will hinder drilling holes for the new pipe, it's in a commercial property so need to gain access the the unit next door which isnt a problem because it's empty just a pain that we dont have proper plumbing.

The picture above would be an ideal solution as it's easy, because the washing machine will be close to the toilet macerator, I will call saniflo and ask what they have for our situation, probably not going to be the cheapest 🙂
