First off, do push-fit and compression waste fittings both fit on the same pipe? (just not solvent pipe..?)

Secondly, if you want to join a piece of push-fit/compression waste-pipe to a piece of solvent pipe...how would you do it?

Can you, as I'm guessing you can, connect both pipes using the compression type joints?

push fit usually only fit on its own type of pipe, compression fit on most (some better than others) if you want to join two different types of waste pipe use a McAlpine multifit straight or bend, thats what they are for
 
Thanks, will order some of those. But sounds like I might as well give compression a go for now..
Also, can you make your own traps out of some elbows and pipe when you can't fit a pre-machined one in?
