anyone much about the regs relating pipework (not carrying gas) and electric wires, downlights etc etc

Cheers

Well the custard has downlights in the loft, which feed the d/stairs bathroom (he has run all his own electrics and its a bit of a mess, im being asked to re-run some pipework which will ultimately be ontop of his diy downlights - not keen on it to be fair and very little scope for me to run elsewhere

You could run plastic though.

what are your trying to avoid? the only problem i can see is heat off the lights, the pipework will need lagging in the loft so will be electricaly insulated from the light fittings but the heat from the lights may be a fire risk to the lagging. I would suggest fitting fire hoods/boxes over the lights.
