Hi,
As some of you know I work on macerators which often means removing the toilet pan for access and sometimes I get water hammer in the cistern entry valve (both ball & float types) afterwards. The only thing I can think of is the fact that I Vac the cistern dry anyone know better?

Also what`s the fastest way of getting rid of it.

Thanks.

No don`t touch the valve at all, just isolate the water supply, disconnect the pipe from the cistern and remove cistern & pan as one but all to often I get water hammer as the cistern fills.
