Hi. I have a large 80l water heater/boiler with cold water feed going through an orange plastic inlet relief valve (little spring loaded trigger on the side). I need to undo the cold pipe as there is a leak and the pipe needs to be changed. If I undo the cold feed pipe from this valve - will the water from the boiler pour out through this valve and flood my bathroom?

Hi. Yes here is a photo of the valve. Valve.jpg

if the braided pipe is the one leaking then there must be water passing through it, so the valve must be passing, it is either a temp or pressure relief so the problem needs to be resolved, but if it is only leaking slightly then it will be possible to remove the braided pipe and catch the drips in a bucket till the pipe is renewed, as long as you dont open or remove the valve then it will be fine
