what way does a oil fired burner react if there was water in the oil tank ?
 
stops working if pulled into the fuel line.

water dosnt burner when injected into your boiler at 10bar.

hows it got there?
 
this sounds like an nvq question if i remember right?.
was it high co2 reading?.
