B

buckley plumb

is this qualification for life or every 5 years . took mine with bpec and just called them who said it is evergreen (forever one off) but other training facilities are saying every 5 years

they changed my card fm wras to water safe with no fee and when the card expires i expect them to send a new one as before at no charge 🙂

Deffo went to 5 yearly a good few years ago, when I did it we got a video to watch before we went, when we went back for the 5 yr renewal we got a DVD, that was the only difference

I won't be doing it again , I used to sub to a builder he was doing a renovation the customer wanted a shower valve with hose next to the WC(foreigners). I said I could not do it as it's against the regs for the shower head to go into the bowl and possibly touch the water, the builder simply did it himself. The building inspector turned up as the job was finishing went over the house no problems,I asked him if he was OK with the shower/WC and he told me it was fine no problem ffs .

Unfortunately, Building Control officers do not know what they are looking at, it is not their jurisdiction (Water Undertakers) & as it was not a new supply they don't get involved.
Sad an't it that something that could be so dangerous is not picked up !!!

I say you did the right thing by not doing it !! (did you put it in writing ?)

I didn't get anything in writing tbh as most of the guys on site were talking about the fact that the plumber had refused to do it, I have to wonder just what the building inspector is getting paid for.
