Just solved one problem with the help of you guys, can you help with my next problem? 😱)

Just moved into a new house and the downstairs toilet's flush is weak, it struggles to flush away toilet paper without the help of the toilet brush.

I have opened the cistern and taken some pictures. It only fills half full, which i thought could be the problem, the overflow is set so that it stops it filling at about half way which is where the overflow line is, is this correct? I would have thought it should fill the whole block?

Any ideas?

the line is the water fill level.
it looks fractionally lower but not worth changing.

try pressing the flusher with the lid off,
how far does it empty?

that looks like a fluidmaster flush which has adjustment to give a bigger flush. there are two sliders which depending where they are positioned can give a greater or less long and short flush.

The fill valve and flush valve are both fluidmaster, very easy to raise the water level in there, The fill valve has a grey clasp on the shaft that will slide up and allow you to raise the valve, the flush valve has a clip on the overflow that you can undo and raise that aswell.

Again brilliant guys. I followed your instructions and have indeed fixed the problem. i increased the flush size and increased the water level a bit. It is now flushing much better. 😱)

Thank you all!

I would have thought that the fill valve has as well the plastic clip on it which avoids the fill valve to turn in any direction, it's just a little small plastic clip ... It's sometimes hard to get too when installed
