Hello all, was wondering if someone could help me, looking at buying a property but haven't a clue about boilers or plumbing in general.

It has an interesting feature bathroom made of an old pond and hand pump but that will be addressed in time by a professional, I was wondering if I could gather some info on the boiler from those that might know. Anything will be useful, age, type, sort of pressure I could expect etc.

It's for a small property with all the plumbing downstairs.

Picture attached, I think it's a glow worm but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Simon

Re: What type of boiler is his....

Can't tell exactly what boiler it is.

It looks like a heat only boiler, which means your hot water will be provided by a separate cylinder.

Generally speaking these types of systems have a lower hot water pressure at the outlets.

You won't get instant hot water, you'll have to fire the boiler up maybe for an hour before.

If you do purchase the property I'd recommend as a minimum getting it serviced, this way you'll know if there are any problems and it will give you the assurance that it is safe.

I know, unfortunately it's crammed into one half of the inside of a chimney breast. Will be difficult to get a better one I'm afraid..... Can't you look at it as a challenge!?

Decent enough basic boiler but get it checked by an rgi.
