Whats the best small van?

I'm looking to buy a small van, looking to spend ideally £1000 but could probably go as high as £3000 if I had too. What would be the most reliable, cheapest to run,/insure etc?

i have a volkswagen caddy the new model they are good, but must say expensive and because of the curved sides with any racking it doesnt take much of a load.
if i was going to get a van again i would stay small but maybe consider the transit connect they have a better loading space and they can be got for a couple of £1000's and they are transits what else can be said.

i got a transit connect its a little belter and loads more room than u think, but not the best van on the market on the juice 🙂

I used to have a Transit Connect and thought it a great van. Basic but good and 100% reliable - no faults, just a few dents. It was a 53 plate and I sold it for £2,700 a year ago (60-80,000 miles, forgot exactly).

I was told by someone else he'd had two Transit Connects and they both had loads of faults.

I'd suggest that if you're trying it and might sell it in a year or two (I did and now have a Transit) then I'd buy Connect as they hold their money better than the Kangoo or Citroen etc.

dont buy a vauxhall had mine 4 years been tat , Peugeot are good or so i am told fords as well but they can rust alot

Love my little vauxhall!! It's footdown to the floor everywhere I drive it, and it's never let me down. Too small though. As for fuel consumption, pretty good.

Like I say, on the motorway I'm a leadfoot, that tends to drink the juice a bit more.

got a 02 diesel auto at mo, bought at 100k 8yrs ago for 4k!
gonna keep it till it or me dies.

any connect pre 2003 a re rust buckets but 04 onward seem better. good van for little money

suzuki super carry dirt cheap on insurance dirt cheap on tax exempt from london low emission zone( if it affects you )
