With the housing market slowing down and the threat of recession is there work in your area?
What work do you do most of the time?

we do bathroom and wet room installations including tiling and part P electrical in West Yorkshire and we are now fully booked up until the end of september

Im In Cornwall-our Firm Got Loads On-mainly Schools And Commercial But Housing Side Still Seems Strong Down Here-pulling All Hotels Down In Newquay -posh Flats Going Up Everywere!!🙂

In County Durham. I do plumbing, heating and tiling, specialise in complete bathrooms. Work has been good up until the last couple of weeks, very slow at the minute most calls are for repairs and leaks. Looking into appealing to a wider audience via solar and ground source.

i am very busy🙂, but the bloke who helps me out sits about eating chocolate hobnobs all day.🙄

i'm in merseyside too, work is up and down, busy for a couple of months then a few slow weeks. In a slow period right now but never know what's round the corner!

I'm in Hastings. New housing flat on its arse but getting plenty from the commercial side. A lot of the top up charlies during the boom times are suffering!!

Am in edinburgh...redundancy due on oct 31st...nae work on the sites 😱

Job offers welcome 😀

Work in devon all gone, loads laid off and the rest are fearful, any jobs that are going are asking for ACS, Oftec, Part P and hetas for 9 quid an hour, not fun time here

doubling up for deliveries in me van now to tick over. some weeks since dec = nowt.
re-train into guarenteed work as a lorry driver or teacher seems promising though,,,
resession proof i think.

Dont want to rub it in but ive only had one day off in the last month , boiler changes , full heating systems and call outs `, was worried early Jan but havent stopped since , only thing is im travelling lot further now than I used to , Essex and North London

Yorkshire: Jan & Feb was not to good, hit us hard. March & April on the up. The job leads that I receive from the web are really making a differance.

Light at the end of the tunnel.

Its a site called Plumbsitesupplies.co.uk

They advertise my company details & send me leads almost every week.

I paid £48.00 for 1 year.

Worth it.

there is very little work about generaly but we are still training hundreds of plumbers

Have the iphe published anything in the past year that indicates a shortage? Any statistics about a the industry and an aparent shortage used be training companies should be in regards to the state of the industry as it is in 2009 and regulated just like the finincial services authority.

in the manchester area its seems to be ok, were getting more smaller firms buying from us as some prices the local merchants are tring to charge is unreal, wont mention the name of the place but they wanted £159+vat for a 600x1400 double rad !!!

slow in kent ,i get about 3 calls a day for work to be done, and about 5 calls a day new plumbers looking for employment
