Hi everyone, I hope this is posted in the correct section.
I have a customer with a fairly unusual system in place and need to fit a filter or strainer to the feed of the cold water storage. We have done this before on a regular domestic properties but this house is huge and has two storage tanks each the size of a small car.

We have had problems with debris entering the pipework and this has caused problems with the inlets on some of their wcs, taps and it has knackered their shower pump which we have just replaced.
The incoming supply is completley independant of any waterboard and comes from a natural source, it is piped in 32mm then reduces down to 28mm a metre or so from the first cistern.
My question is, where do I find a filter kit for a system of this size that wont need to much maintenance? The customer would like a simple solution that wont involve getting us round to replace a filter each week or month.
Any help guys and girls would be greatly appeciated.

Re: Where can I buy a inline filter for cold storage cistern (for very large citerns)

Try bes.co.UK code 7538 y in line strained.

Thanks. Do you think that this would be enough to stop all the grit entering the system or would I need anything else? The water quality is very good so I guess adding a filter would not be necessary?

There is a gauze strained in this I don't know how many Micron it is but ring them and they should be able to tell you

I looked in to it and the inline strainer from BES would likely get blocked up in a few days as the basket is so small, so I needed something that could collect a much larger quantity before any maintenance is required.
A friend put me in touch with these guys: KENNET WATER COMPONENTS LTD in Newbury.

They do pool equipment and have sorted it all out for me. Job done!

Thanks for your replies.
