Customer said she didn't feel too good when she used her fire and wanted it checked over.

I went up and had a look and found this had been installed without a vent. And far too close to the floor. Shoddy and potentially dangerous work from a cowboy.

I think flueless should be banned even fit by a goodun..
Agree with this, Should be done away with or have some sort of system in place if a customer wants one they must provide some form of proof of a vent

It doesn't help when b and q advise people that its flueless and doesn't need a vent. Have had to shut one down when doing a landlords.

Went to a similar one of these last year. Could smell the fumes when I walked in the house. Wouldn't want one in my own house, let alone anyone else's!

That's a beautiful install alright. Even with vents fitted the customers like blocking them up. Was on a Bord gas course in Ireland last week. One of their emergency crew had been out to a job, tenant wasn't feeling well. Said she had moved into house. Gas fire making her feel unwell. Fitter found vents blocked with newspaper. Tenant said she knew nothing about it. Paper was dated from a week earlier. Dopey tenant had nearly CO 'ed herself. Class bit of DIY.

Aye they get constantly covered when they realise it's bit breezy. Her living room and kitchen was pretty big and open plan which is just as well, might have turned out worse if it was a small room.

Some councils I've worked for are all sitting on AR if not worse situations with back boilers with ventilation issues. All the vents are behind radiators so can't be cleared or inspected and are full of dust, lost socks and spiders webs! Don't know how they get away with it

Death traps the lot of them. Should all be put in the skip!

I went to a customers house before and they had loads of grant work done and for some reason that included a flueless fire, no ventilation, so when I told them they need to get a vent, they were adamant they didn't need one because the installer said that as it's less than 7kw, they don't need one! There's some idiots around!
