hi there,

anyone help with a slow flashing ch light on the 35 cdi 2 ?
press reset and fan comes on, goes to ignition and sparks then goes to lockout.
theres gas through the inlet and when you unscrew the burner test point im sure i can hear gas but only for a second then boiler goes to lockout.
any ideas?
have serviced the boiler, running the gas valve in max mode for combustion analysis. was running when i left and then had a phone call half hour later saying there was no heating or hot water.....:sweatdrop:
thanks in advance

did you leave the gas turned off
we've all done it, half way down the road and you get a call saying you just done a cp12 and now my tenants saying theres no hot water
:cuss:

Surely if you can hear gas & its sparking it would have ignited... Maybe on the service you have dislodged some rubbish into the burner or injector?

wait a second just re read your post, doesnt that boiler have a zero guv, you shouldnt hear any hissing, if youve got gas to the inlet, then its most likely the solenoid, have you put a multimeter on it to see what current the pcb is sending to the gas valve

i'm on too many whiskeys, thats the old grey boiler, scrub everything i've said and i'll get my coat

(still recon its the gas valve)

Minimum gas pressure too low?

Connect your manometer to the working pressure test nipple, then turn gas off under boiler and try fire the heating or hot water, if the pressure in your manometer drops then gas is going through the valve.

Did you remember to put the switch back to normal setting after testing high and low?

boiler had been set back to normal operating mode. there was low working pressure at inlet initially. had gas transporter out who adjusted gas pressure at meter.
boiler kept locking out while in test mode so had heating draining whilst filling up through link to keep boiler running while i did combustion checks. they all come back at correct levels. i did adjust burner pressure slightly as it was a little out. it lit before i left when i ran hot water tap. got a call half hour later to say boiler wouldnt fire on heating or hot water.

Did you adjust it correctly? If it's the gas valve where you adjust the burner pressures with an allen key, then the small 2mm key is for max burner, the 3mm key is for min burner. I've seen a few people adjust the max with the 3mm key, resulting in the minimum going too low.

Seriously?... Iv never heard of anyone draining the heating & refilling through the loop to keep the boiler on maximum lol! Wave good bye to the inhibitor 😛 far too much hassle for a service!!

😀 turn heating and hot water on with servicing mode on

I had this, turns out it was a MPR that had locked, had another one , 25 standing pressure, 24 at the inlet fire the boiler and the gas bottomed out, it was a faulty smart meter.
