Any one know why CDI range does not come with the chip to lower the output on the ch side on the combi ? I have fitted few I junior and SI and they come with the chip but the one Iam installing now 34cdi does not !
Is there another way to set down the output for ch ?

thank you

In the installer menu on the boiler you can set the heating output. Cant remember exactly how to do it, I will try and dig my manual out later if vern hasn't already seen this thread by then as no doubt he knows how to do it.

Cheeras Matt , I will have a look on the manual my self when I get back to theat job ! If its not much of a problem for you then pls post it .

its not in the normal manual, its in a manual I got when doing a Worcester training course. It talks you through getting into the installer/service menu and how to change all the parameters

Now then Stan, all CDi's inc compact are range rated via the internal software.

On the 34cdi press and hold the spanner button for 10 secs, to access the installer menu, 1A will appear in the LCD display, this is CH power displayed as a percentage of max power (34KW ONLY for HW remember heating is only 30 KW max) PRESS the minus key until you reach the required output as a percentage eg 50% = 17KW, once you have the correct percentage in the display, press and hold the chimney sweep button until brackets appear in the LCD display this takeS approx 5 secs, this stores your setting, press the spanner key briefly to exit the installer menu, JOB DONE!

Don't adjust anything but 1A as some settings can really upset the boiler, hence why this ain't in the install MI's
