i usually stay away from wb'sproducts but i have to service a wb junior tommorow i know that you have to put the gauge on the flue and i know for the particular model the reading must be greater than -3.1 mb but im never sure which way is greater as in more vacuum ie a reading of -3.2 or less vacuum ie a reading of 3.0(which is actually the greater number)
can anyone clarify

When measuring negative pressure more is less so the higher the minus number the less resistance through the hex.

Steve, I'll email you some WB training notes, it's covered in there mate.

Perhaps it us just the way you have written your post and you may already be aware but you put the gauge on the test point on the fan assembly not on one i of the flue combustion test points. On the junior its just on the left just below the silicone hex bleed hose black with a white rubbery push on cap.

Hahaha steve was going to ask same thing, checked I junior today had -6.2 and couldnt work out if it was more than -4.6

just on a side note anyone know where to get the wb heat cell scraper looks like a feeler gauge with a handle ?

thanks to all for the advice yes i did know where the tube goes ive done a couple before and phoned worcesters if you dont do them regular its easy to forget
its badly worded in the MI;s as greater would realy be closer to zero in the same way 2 is greater than 1

so 3.2 is good and 3 is stripdown time

ring wb technical to confirm but their latest stance is new burner gasket yearly, also bottom baffle corrodes badly if not removed for some time, this can corrode enough to block the condensate path and kill the fan,neg readings dont always show this, also if a vertical flue other than checking visually ,carry out a integrity(air test)obviously looking for 20.9 or close enough and no pocs

I don't bother with pressure test anymore, just get on and service the thing. Don't take long to get in and have a proper look. Is that a new burner gasket if removed?
