Hi All, Ive been doing a lot of reading about the Greenmaster Junior and it appears that pressure problems are not a rare occurance!

The pipe work to the boiler is all exposed, well 90% is (we live in a flat) and there has been no sign of a leak in our flat, nor from the neighbours below which suggests the fault is on the boiler.

The pressure relief valve and expansion vessel were replaced recently and it is definitely not either of these are both are working correctly, is there anything else that could be causing the problem?

I top up the pressure to 1.5 using the filling loop and it takes around 5 or 6 days the the pressure to drop to zero. Clearly it shouldnt drop but I have no issue topping it up every week, but I assume this will mean the boiler will need to be replaced faster than if it was working correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Had a few heat exchangers go,leaking through condensate, eventually will start to leak through casing

imho

when you keep topping up the system. have you been bleeding your rads?cos obviously if the pressure gauge is dropping to zero when you keep filling system there will sill be lots of air in your system and when you call for heat the pump will kick in a push the water around the system and if you have not bled your rads. the air in the system will eventually be released through your automatic air vent, but as this is discharged will obviously cause system pressue to drop.so i would fillsystem to 1.5bar bleed your rads till you get water then check pressure gauge and top up again if needed and bleed rads again till you have water from all rads and system presure at 1.5bar. then see how you go. cheers grant

Thanks for the help guys, greatly appreciated. I had been checking the rads, not every time tho as the pressure only bottomed out once or twice, I usually topped it up before it got down to zero.

If it is a new heat exchanger is that an expensive job?

If it is losing 1.5b of pressure over say 10 days, will it damage the boiler if we simply keep topping it up every 10 days?

it wont damage the boiler but continually introducing fresh oxygenated water to radiators will speed up corrosion in the system. leading to pinholing of the radiators and sludge in the system imho.

check and see if your condensate pipe is dripping when the boiler is inactive/off this will show if its leaking, it must be leaking somewere!

I had another thought, may not be a leak, if it's still comming out of the overflow after replacing these parts. I am sure most of us know what it could be if i but I think we should offer this kind of advice on the gas safety register forum for members only, we are doing us all out of work by telling people all the time.

Golfman check all your radiator connections and your heating pipework for leaks, if nothings leaking or if its still comming from your overflow pipe then you need to call a gas safe engineer. Hope this helps
