Doing a fan change on one of these today and having real trouble with the gasket on top of the heat exchanger it's too thick to allow me to push the clamping plate down and get the Manifold assembly back in! Is there a knack to this? Anyone had similar problem?

They're tight. Seem to be worse than before, not sure if they've increased the thickness or the strength of the foam. It'll be ok once the nut is on.

Thanks guys, I got there in the end with with a bit more brute force necessary than I expected and also a lot of swearing!! The new gasket was quite noticeably larger than the old one even when compressed!!

I've got to change a pin holed plastic manifold on Greenstar 35cdi next week not done one before, anyone got any tips or is the easiest way to remove the whole hydraulic block?

My tip isn't helpfull but here goes. Take it all apart from front to back, all the little brittle plastic parts will break, all the o ringed pipes wont want to come out for love nor money..Then reassemble with new washers/o rings and something will leak.. theres no easy way of fixing a worcester just give yourself plenty of time and Valium..

I've change quite a few they are pigs !! Everything leaks and nothing comes off of goes back on allow A morning

When doing a fan change on the Worcester I've always found it easier to remove the square inspection hatch at the back top right hand side and as you slide the fan in push a screwdriver down through the inspection hatch to keep the fan level. Normally goes in pretty easily when you keep it level.

For the Hydroblock, if you can get the manual follow it....I always use silicone grease on all of the O rings and parts, touch wodd never had one leak when back together. Fiddly but doable in and out in less than two hours. Drain boiler off and plenty of towels handy !!!

Did the manifold today, used some silicone grease as goz666 suggested and was all done in 2hours with no leaks. Thanks for the info!!

i had to give up on one today couldnt get the slider down of the prv for love nor money didnt help only being six inches above a worktop going back to take it of the wall is there a knack to getting it to slide down ? i hyad grips on it and a bar trying to pull down

Grease it and ensure u removed old oring and push right in first should slide in easy like ray's hand into his wallet when time for staff bonuses.
