I'm wondering if borderline case or not. I know it's common to see little rads hung with these with no problems and this towel rad weighs probably less but it's also going to have people stuffing and pulling towels on and off?

Not a hope in hell, I wouldnt even hang it on the proper plasterboard fixings that expand out. Get some fixings in the wall.

Hmm, that was some dizzy 3am thinking.

Surely some decent spring toggles and hoping I hit a stud for at least a couple of fixings isn't madness is it? Can always downsize towel rad to small one too. Small bathroom

Those spiral ones are shocking! I only use them for pipe clips.

Where ever possible I try to slip a bit of 1/2" ply behind the wall to spread the weight. On radiators this isn't too much of a problem as you can usually hide where you have cut into the wall behind it a towel rail you can't hide it as easy.

As a minimum I would use the umbrella style fixings as they are not too bad and going back to when I was site bashing that's all they gave us and that's with some big rads as well.

These things are the nuts. They can hold up to 160kg. Expensive though.

I'd make a hole from the other side and batons across for fixings, the rad might not weigh much but a heavy wet towel ontop and someone pulling on it

How come?

Half the time they don't hold and the other half there just rubbish and plaster board will never hold any great weight

Have a try you might have more luck that me, maybe I was holding my tounge wrong

I don't know if I would trust something that needed such a big hole in the plasterboard to fit it. I use the umbrella ones myself.

Those spiral ones are fit for the bin, spring toggles are the best ive found M6 ones for that sort of thing.
