Xpelair product recall

I've been told not to get an Xpelair inline fan for my new bathroom as they are being recalled. I had a look online and even called Xpelair themselves who know nothing about it. Surely the person who told me must have got it wrong.... Am I still safe to buy the XID 100?

Most recent product recall from Xpelair was this well over a decade ago, according to AFI.

Was it the vent-axia rep that you were talking to?
