We had the house painted recently, and after it was done, I realised that the pressure relief valve from the boiler (floorstanding combi, airing cupboard, 2nd floor) is dripping.
Its clearly been doing it for a while, and the boiler isn't shutting down, so it can't be losing pressure, so I diagnose that the filling loop must be letting by.
Now diagnosis is my limit these days, so I email the guy who looks after it, and ask him to send one of his guys to change it.
Turns out I am right, the loop is letting by. Easy fix, first time, charge call out + materials, no problem.
And he absolutely tries to sell Mrs S a new boiler on the grounds that this is proof that the old one is "on the way out"! A lousy £5 filling loop that didn't even come with the boiler!
Cheeky fecker!
