Hi Guys,

My son has just had a his plumbing done about a year ago and one of the air vents seems to be bubbling/leaking up.

I have attached some pictures, I can see a total of 3 air vents, flow and return near the boiler hve one each and there is one on the return on the return pipe near the cylinder.
does this sound about right or has he guessed the work and stuck one every where?

I'm thinking of closing it off if not required...

In my house i only see 2.

Thanks!

The site owner doesn`t like links to other forums ;)

EDIT,
And I don`t like having a complete post removed for no good reason.
Who was it and tell me why via a pm if you prefer to stay in the shadows.

Screw the black caps back down only need opening if draining and filling the system

The purpose of an Auto air vent is to vent high points when air is likely to accumulate.
The location of the boiler 2 is wrong and won't do much except when refilling the system.

As per Shaun, close the boiler ones off either with the black cap on top or the valves immediately below.

The one on the cylinder return isn't going to achieve anything either.

Tidy pipework. But it's a shame the vents aren't at the top of the flow and return!

thanks for the replies.

Where should have the cylinder have been fitted or was it not required as it too low already?

Cowboy plumber he was in this case!
