Hi all. I'm looking to fit a new shower in my bathroom. Can anyone advise as to whether I can use any of today's modern showers without having to change my plumbing based on the attached photos?

Many Thanks

David

If you want a new shower then yes you need to change the valve in the wall

You just want a new showerhead or handset? Should be okay to connect to the existing valve.

If you want to change the valve then could be done, but depends on a few variables what kind you'll need to choose. You will almost certainly need to modify the last few inches of pipework to do this.

Thanks for your replies. In theory, could I cut the cold pipe and hot pipe at the required levels and then use copper push fit 90 degree elbows and the push in another small section of copper pipe into each one and space them at 150mm to allow for a shower mix bar? I'm clearly not a plumber, but not a lunatic either, just trying to do up a bathroom as a hobby. Thanks.

Yes that sounds fine just use a pipe slice not a hacksaw
