at the moment i have 5 radiators 1 double and 4 single panel. they all are 40 odd years old , i want to relace all with double panel ones. would my boiler cope ok ?. it is a condenser boiler and the tank in the loft is open vented. hope some one can give me any advice. thanks.

there ok but i would ignore the warranty, make sure you inspect them for damage tho

Ignore because they're not likely to honour it, or because warranties on rads not likely to be required?

both as they will want system water tests and they will blame it on corrosion

On what basis, it’s based on heat loss and correct sizing

The OP may be thinking of the case where the 'correct' sized radiator needs 80°C/60°C to heat the room but the oversized replacement can work with 60°C/40°C. The latter allows the boiler to work in condensing mode. Correct in theory, but in practice many 80/60 systems have subsequently been double-glazed, etc. and are sufficiently oversized for the return temp to be below 50°C most of the time anyway.

Good point a definite maybe

The other thing to weigh up is the cost of new rads throughout compared to your annual gas bill, you will probably find that it would take decades to pay them off with any potential savings. Even from an ecological perspective, any reduced co2 emissions are wiped out by the co2 required to manufacture and transport the new panels.

so best to replace with single panel i guess
