I just file it out with a half-round file. On bigger stuff like 110mm couplings there are a couple of little tabs that act as a stop and I use a flat screwdriver and a hammer to bash them out.

Use a dremel with the wee drum type sanding attachment. This also removes chrome from chrome copper pipe for soldering.
