What should be done if lead pipe work is found within a property?

if it isn't leaking leave it alone. incoming water I presume?

But try to get the customer to agree to have you replace the lead mains. Horrible stuff and can suddenly leak on the seam. Any lead pipe inside properties usually has to be from before the war - about 80 years old at least.
Think of the scrap value of the old pipe

I know hard water , was more likely to make a protective layer hence disturb nothing !

( flush toilet , run tap before drinking it in morning - was my routine in a mates house )
