Well, thats what it says on the box, but is it true? Its hard to tell with pump valves - its not just about when you fit them, its what they are like in 10yrs time when the next guy has to change the pump. They aren't cheap either, so they had better be good to live up to the name and price.

A pair of freebie perfect pump valves to the first 5 GSR or Plumbers Arms members to PM me a snail mail address, and promise to come back on the forum to give a bit of feedback - EXCEPT:

If Bod, Buckley Plumb, Kev the Gas, Nicro or Gray0689 get in first, they will have to sit out the next forum freebie that I do, so that we can spread it around a bit.

Redsaw is excluded completely from this round, because he is mean and disqualified my JOTM entry ;).

Ray

wonder if they will leak out spindle like most pump valves do when they have no been turned in a long time

Saw these in one of the mags and thought they looked good. I'm forever hammering them off on social housing jobs where the systems are shyte so the pump fails prematurely and i've never got the same pump to replace just the head.

SteveB (less than a minute, I wonder if his wallet comes out as quick in the pub?) SimonF, SambotC, TBServices and GasMan were first. One bonus set to JCPlumb who was very close behind GasMan.

cheers ray, they should hopefully be ok,for a long time now i have stopped using gatevalves(asd they pass) in favour of full bore quarter turn isos,no problems to date, these pump valves are the same as full bore isos

thoses that have got them must come back in 15 years time and tell us if they still turn off :)

Cheers Ray!
Actually have what sounds like a pump replacement next week (upstairs rads hot, downstairs rads cold, open vent system). Fingers crossed they have no valves... I didn't ever think I'd hear myself say (type) that ;)

Hi Gray0689.

They are designed and imported by a guy called Rob Pond - he is an agent and importer that deals in "bright ideas" plumbing bits. I have known Rob for about 20 years, and every time I see him, he puts some weird bit of brass on my desk. Sometimes its brilliant, sometimes not so practical. Lots of his stuff is sold under other re-sellers own label. Most independent merchants will know of Pondy.

We have only just taken these on, and haven't put a price on them yet, but it is likely to be around the £12 - £14 mark. Still researching at the moment.

Ray you swine

You always seem to do the freebie thing when I'm not online.

Gonna sulk and stamp me feet now!

Are they available in 28mm?

I am getting very tired of Chinese junk (re-branded) they weep even when never turned off causing system pressure drop over time, usually the weeps dry out when first fitted so you don't see a problem until the call back then you can see the marks on the valves.

Do you ship to Ireland (Dublin area)?

Hi Ray,
Those valves look very good. Wonder if you have ever stocked the (not so well known) Peglers Bulldog pump valves that are also same as lever valves inside? Also very good although they don't have levers, just flat spindles that 1/4 turn dead easy. I only ever saw 22mm but I see on Web that they also come in 28mm. Got a pair on my own house.

The perfect pump valve could be something that may interest me as i get near retirement. Build up a bit of false hope for someone in the future, just out of badness.

I'd rump them up on the floor with 2 pair of stillies and fibre washers in. Get that off
