Same. I just unscrew it and put it in my soldering case. No purging etc.It is safe, I disconnect mine because I have a soldering tool box, and won’t fit connected.
Don’t you get a gas discharge from the bottle when you don’t purge it?Same. I just unscrew it and put it in my soldering case. No purging etc.
Hi Ric,The purging is to purge gas from the torch head AFTER it's been removed from the gas bottle. I always remove mine as it fits in my box separately.
The purge is from the head, not the bottle. I use the torch so often/go through so many bottles/I’m lazy, so don’t bother.Don’t you get a gas discharge from the bottle when you don’t purge it?
He's right! So it does. I've been doing it wrong since - forever! Oops...Hi Ric,
The instruction leaflet mentions the purging process before disconnecting the head. The first time I disconnected it I got a huge pop. Second time I purged it before disconnecting from the gas bottle and it was a lot less eventful!
