Hi

i need to change two loos from wall hung to floor standing. (Our water is VERY hard and they leak all the time with no access to sort them out without demolishing the wall).

To line up the new loos with the waste pipes (which can't be moved) I need plinths of 80mm. The nearest available is 75mm (100mm would be ridiculously high).

Can anyone tell me if I will be able to get away with 75mm? I know water won't flow uphill but is the 5mm going to be critical? I am using a plumber to do the job but he's away at the moment and I want to order asap.

Failing that that do 80 mm plinths exist anywhere?

Thanks if if you can help.

make it yourself, then either tile it paint it or some other type of flooring

and yes water does not run up hill

5mm is nothing. Put a ring of plumbers mate round the spigot of the new pan and push home into a new pan connector. Put another rin round the first fin of the pan connector as it goes into the soil pipe. Won't leak.

If the frames where set correctly you should be able to just get a normal floor standing pan for frames

Why are you looking for a plinth ?

cant you install a water softener to sort the problem?

In what what way do you mean is the hard water making the toilets leak
