I have this boiler to heat and provide hot water for my home. I have had a total of three of these boilers. The first two were recalled by Viessman and replaced. The problems with the recalled boilers was I had to keep replacing ionization and ignition electrodes. There was also some risk of carbon monoxide leakage.

The last one was replaced in 04/2021. So it's been working fine for over a year. Recently (October 2022) it's been shutting off with error code EE (combustion failure) every day, sometimes multiple times per day. I just had my plumber come out (Nov 2022) and replace the ionization electrode for $300. The plumber said this is a constant problem with this boiler and be prepared for the failures to continue. I'm getting a bad feeling again about this boiler again.

I've been to Viessman's website where you can input your serial number and see if it's a recall boiler. My number (75547031010311120 -B2HB 160) was not a recall boiler for now.

I have a question if any customers or professional plumbers are aware of this issue and can share any advice?

Not heard of a persistant problem like this with the 200, might be worth contacting Viessman UK or Europe technical to see if they can shed any light.

Isn’t the boiler under warranty?

I have an ideal vogue max S18 boiler and I’m considering fitting auto balancing TRVs, my question relates to the boilers pump. I see a boiler pump menu for either 70% or 100%, so, is the pump set at either one of two fixed speed percentages or does the pump actually vary speed, (modulate)...

Every two weeks or so I have to go and top up the system because the hot taps are running cold. Boiler display is flashing 0.6 bar and I fill up to 1.3. I've had an engineer look inside the boiler and he can't see anything wrong. I've checked the pipes all over the house and cannot see any...

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...

We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company. I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...
