What is your quote success rate? Does it ebb and flow over the year or stays faitly constant?
Has it improved over time?

I'm not the cheapest and that's all people seem to want round me at the moment. So not many.
I’ve had the same. But to be fair the kitchen is coming out soon.same as us then got told too expensive for a kitchen tap at £200 total includes a bristan tap coming out at just over the £100 mark
Mmmm
Justice league, can I ask why you’re curious about this? A recent question you asked, was about is it normal to leave a customer hanging regards quoting for a new boiler in a new location.
You’re not from a surveying/ data company are you?
85- 90%
Best possible answerNo a lot of it is because I am trusted through a letting agent where I am quoting for a large number of landlords who have faith in the service provided by the agent and their contractors
Ha ha. Like Stella I’m reassuringly expensive
Estimate then add a load of extra on top for unseen problems. I like itHardly quote at all , mostly estimate .

We’re all entitled to our opinion.

I would love to have a quote, estimate or just someone to do the f*ing job.
Had 3 out to look at the job so far not one bothered to get to me.
I can seem why BG do so well.
Furious, would never happen on the commercial side, I had 30 odd years would not have lasted six months carrying on like this lot, so unprofessional.
I give them full information, assist with site survey, what more can I do? I tell them price is not the main priority, a quality job is, I m sat here with 5 to 6. K cash. I don't understand, why travel and spend time doing a site survey then not having the courtesy to contact the customer even if its just to say sorry can't help you, whats so difficult about that?A question for you. What percentage of responsibility do you take? After all, you are the common denominator in these interactions. #JustAsking
Agree.I started another thread on how to get a quote because obviously something is going wrong when guys come out to look and don't come back with any kind of quote:
Some thoughts on how to get a quote from a contractor
Its a self inflicted wound.I think he's still just salty coz some lads didn't get back to him. Some people tend to take it badly sometimes.
Also I'm not sure this thread is doing us all any favours .
I have no idea what that means, however if you bump into someone accidentally you instinctively apologies, that is common courtesy. As an independent adult, if I have the misfortune to meet someone I dislike and don't want to deal with then I just get on with my life. End of.

I got on really well with all the guys that came, spent time chatting about the industry etc, whether they like me or not is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned,Not if i definitely disliked them.
Don't like where this is going. Id like to help customers get quotes and good contractors get work.
Have a look and tell me what you think:

I don't want to marry them or bare their children, I just want a heating system installed, I understand you don't like where this is going but the sad fact is that because of the nature of the business, I e one off installs people get away with this sort of behaviour.
I know I will be kicked off this forum because I have highlighted and unpleasant subject but to be honest I don't care, I have to tell it like it is.
Anyway your not alone, I'm on another plumbing Forum who have the same issues.
So presumably you would tell them straight away, to their face that sorry you can't help them on this particular occasion?Whether they like you is really important. I choose who I work with and choose not to work with people I dislike.
Please read previous quotes.Have you tried following up ?
And aslong as you respect others and there views and in tern they respect yours no you won’t
Did you say you wanted to keep any scrapPlease read previous quotes.
I will take up carpets, move furniture etc, we were even prepared to move out to a hotel to give them a clear run, no interference or people in the way, what more can I do, hold their hands?
And there you have it.Did you say you wanted to keep any scrap
?And there you have it.
Not everyone is built that way.So presumably you would tell them straight away, to their face that sorry you can't help them on this particular occasion?
Or a phone call, text, carrier pigeon?
And there you have what? And there you have it.
