Had a toilet fitted, Melbourne from Victoria Plumbing ( Melbourne Ceramic Close Coupled Modern Toilet at Victorian Plumbing UK ) but looking at it and sitting on it, it's not made for the more ample sized or even average sized IMO. Dimensions wise it's a little on the smaller size and ok quality, which leads me on to my question - what mid range brands would you recommend say £150 ish with a soft close seat? For a main bathroom so do not want a cloakroom or ensuite.
Unlike kitchens, there aren't many showrooms and the stores that do have them on display are B and Q et al.
Rak? Ideal Standard? Had a look at Armitage Shanks Sandringham 31/51 and they also felt small or are toilets decreasing in size in general??

I suppose if you require a generous loo seat that will still fit a std pan...I would call Darren at Regal Care at Ormskirk they specialise in this particular area ...Rob Foster
aka centralheatking

thanks. not after a less abled/mobility issue toilet as such just one that is a bit more comfortable to sit on. I think it might be the toilet projection I need to look at - a longer loo perhaps.

that's the thing Rob, cant sit on most of the B and Q ones because they've put the slightly better ones on shelves and Cooke and Lewis reviews have been less than flattering... will see what Vitra's like :0)

Look at vitra.

An S50 comfort height is 480mm high and therefore much easier to use for all except Persons of Restricted Growth (as Tom Sharpe called midgets).

Personally id not go anywhere near Rak as the bend is not formed as a pipe so 'stuff' gets caught up easily and flow away is severely reduced.

S50 I fitted the other week is very nice.
