you have lost me here mate you should have feed and vent before the pump 100mm apart in most cases they dont normally look like a H shaped fitting think i am not seeing what your talking about

I mean this section, I have always called it H section, I am guessing there is no real name for it, except Feed and vent?

I always thought, feed was pipe coming down, vent was going up, but what is name for this section?

90% of jobs I go to they look like a H shape.

i also call it H section as any systems I have been to that don't have it in the shape of a H, normally are too far away and not piped up right. Only my experience.

Also called a close proximity F&E. Same principle as any other where the feed and expansion should be within 150mm of each other. Commonly done in an H layout if the pump and valves are in the upstairs airing cupboard and the boiler downstairs. Flow from boiler rises to cupboard tees for exp and feed then drops through pump and valves.

You can still buy air seperators which configure the pipes in a similar method. They work by slowing the velocity of the water as it passes through.
Look up Aerjec or Tower air separator. BES sell them.

i think its one of those terms that training colleges have come up with id never heard it untill recently some of the youngsters talk a different language to us old farts
