anyone else finding boilers are to complicated for customers i spend time explaining the push button A then double press button B till the right temp shows then press A again to set it and all i get are blank looks and "how do i turn it up then "
Can take me half hour to get the hang of some of them
younger people who are smartphone users have no problem but we are an aging society so bring back the dial

Largely for the benefit of the manufacturers I think.
Make what used to be easy hard and the number of people capable of explaining and working on it diminishes.

And why when the fire is on the heating goes off

Ha Ha, I had one like that last week.
The lady couldnt understand why the heating wasn't coming on when the prog was on.
She seemed puzzled that the room stat being set at 16 and the room being at 22 should matter.
Bless

Cos the manufacturers think their products are the most important invention since the stone axe and must carry much priority in our lives. They forget that there are millions of us who prefer the Keep It Simple adage.

Boilers and programmers and things can still look nice but don't have to have all the latest bits and bobs. I always blame spotty teenagers for "inventing" these things. They create a solution for a problem that never existed in the first place.

The miniminders (and their variants) were probably one of the best easily understood and practical programmers ever made.

My tutor at college had a guy call him once complaining that he had fitted foreign controls to his boiler. He was going mad. My tutor asked what the display said. The customer said its all European!! It says MWUTTTWFFAA!!

My tutor replied. Are you sure it isn't M. T. W. T. F. S. S.
That's the days of the week mate.....
