Today I had to say goodbye to old blue:

u7ysures.jpg

After 8 years of faultless service, she finally gave up the ghost. She's the first and only mastic gun I've ever owned, and still the best I've ever used, always provided smooth delivery, and never overdid it after I let go of the trigger.

R.I.P. old friend, tomorrow you will be replaced, doubtlessly with a much inferior product.

I was genuinely sad lol. Other than my Estwing hammer it's the oldest tool I had I think.

I agree. My original hacksaw I had from 1989 gave up the ghost last year. Still haven't found a new one I'm happy with yet.

But the old one is still safe in my shed!

Haha, it's only 4 years younger than me!

I've still got my key ring from a 1989 Austin maestro deisel, I don't know why I've still got it! It lasted better than the van any way.

I go through these like wildfire, they last a year at best before they fail me and snap. Everbuild ones are rubbish and let me down consistantly eveytime I buy them.
Currently using a higher price UK made one from screwfix, an orange one.

Sorry for your loss , I remember loosing Sid

I've had a few of those COX mastic cages break in exactly the same place. Must be a weak point. Oldest tool I have is giant flat head screwdriver that I used for everything, chasing out, sink wastes, notching. I replaced it for a younger model but still pine for the halcion days of past years. Ahem. Or something.
