if i was in any doubt yes as a rule worcester greenstar every 2-3 years as the deteriorate,vailant/glowworn definatly if a graphite upgrades not fitted ,baxi duotec/pot gold very rarely need doing

flue analyse first to see if you need to strip down oxy and co2 in limits . or check flue neg pressure greater than -3.5 and you dont need to stripdown hexchanger as its clean

on a greenstar it might pass fga and negative pressure tests but the burner gasket may be powder

No but i do some boiler changes for a H/A comapny and renewed some boilers that have supposed to have been serviced or been in for repair and seem to have been attacked with a machette . makes me wonder what the hell goes on in the service

It's the new method of servicing... hit it with a hammer and if it still works it's good for another year; it's all there in regs 😉 ha

nothing because they fail between the electrodes before finally torching the boiler

so worcester bosch boilers need stripping down on every service and gaskets replaced ?. everytime you break heat exchanger you need to replace gasket .very expensive services for the customer every year and as worcester bosch claim seals only need doing every 4 year or so.perfect combustion self cleaning and all that

no every 2-3 years but 3 years is pushing it,yet another reason why i dont like worcester, just changing the fan(which is also weak)means replacing the burner gasket

Glow worm should be changed every 2 or 3 years. I heard this from a vaillant/ Glow worm engineer. But vaillant (Which as most people on here will know is the same gasket) Is only when needed.

sounds like the boiler might have been a heatline then an axe would have been a better option lol :83:

is the cdi as bad on burner gasket as juniour range

no i think this one has the square hex and a totally different design

went to service a juniour this month its 1 year old and got a rh side exit flue cemented in the wall . dreading doing a full service on this due to the flue covering the access plate where the flue brush has to go

They do come with burner gaskets at least!

Went to service a pair of these and the customer explained the boiler casing was hot.

Had them "serviced" every year and when I took the cases off the seals were non existent and flames were hitting the boiler case.

No only needs changing if disturbed or if the graphite seal hasn't been fitted. Should have a G10 sticker on boiler if graphite seal fitted.

If it doesnt have the G10 sticker then you can also tell my seeing if it has the locking nuts, if no locking nuts chances are it has the old seal
