Got a phone call today with a problem with a vented system

i don't know much about it just want I have been told by a friend

2 year old system boiler coming up with a no circulation fault

the boiler doesn't fire up on either hw or ch

he said the pump is running and that its running free and has opened the 3port manual but not nothing

the customer has had the boiler manufacter out and they said its nothing wrong with the boiler.

Im going to look at it tomorrow evening and just wanted some advice what it could be

Could it be the pump not running fast enough or damaged?

Or

some kind of air lock in the system

any advice would be great thanks

Cold feed blocked.
Float operated valve jammed and F&E empty.
System Sludged.
All rad valves turned off. (I've had this)
Air lock.

Basically anything that will cause a lack of circulation.

:iagree: 🙂 could also be a possible flow detection switch fault? Depends on make and model of boiler TBH 🙂

you say vented system then system boiler which may be the case but if the boiler is actually vented and they havent replaced the original pump, put in a new one, I had similar problems for 3 months with custards saying pump new recently, but turns out it was 6 yr old on a clogged system prior to my flushing it out and fitting new ov boiler. Pump unable to keep up pressure
and boiler kept locking out!!!!!

A few years ago i had a small pub similar complaints, i scratched around for a while, it turned out to be the impeller had come off the shaft.
