What are the best RF room stats to fit for combis when considering price, ease of installation and ease of explaning to the user.
Do you go for manufactureres own plug in units or Drayton, Honeywell or other?

Agree with lame, the rf analogue honeywell with the wheel is a good compromise between convenience and ease of use, even for the wrinklies like lame.

As said before Honeywell are easy to use but have broke just out of warranty.... Lucky dip comes to mind on choosing an RF roomstat.....

As you can see, no real answer, they are all much of a muchness....it don't really matter

Your kidding! Salus are pants.

I looked this up a little while ago and published our return rates. I thought I would look again, to see if anything has changed since I last did it.

Salus RF stats returned in warranty: 2.9%
Drayton RF stats returned in warranty: 1.47%
Honeywell RF stats returned in warranty: 1.1%

So the cheapest stat has the highest return rate, and the most expensive has the lowest return rate. What a surprise. 🙂

So the figures back up the statement 'Salus are pants'. Love it, next time I can say with confidence that Salus have a double the 'norm' return rate 🙂

Alternatively, you could say that 97 customers out of 100 who buy a Salus will have no problem... 🙂

Lets say you do 100 installs using Honeywell, and your mate does 100 installs using Salus.

You have spent (say) £10,000 on stats, he has spent £5,000.

He has to go back to 3 of them, whereas you only have to go back to one.

I'd go back to a job for £2,500 in my pocket. 🙂

Just playing devils advocate. I don't mind which one you buy, we sell 'em all! 🙂

Salus ain't so bad the main thing is to change the rf address on installation stops call backs in the future. never had an rf salus go faulty on me yet. only had 1 salus rt500 wired go faulty and it cost me £20.00 to replace so i wasnt crying about it.

Don't want to talk too many numbers, but it would be my customers spending the dosh not me and any returns comes out of my percentage lift on materials, so the fewer the better.

Fair point. A conversatiion over a pint in the Arms sometime.

Its horses for courses really. Each product has its place in the market, and each installer and householder has to choose where up the value/price/quality scale they want to be.

Why do salus rt 500 have 5 switching points ? On off on off on ? Carp IMO

To allow you to change the wireless address in case of nearby conflicts whats carp about that. It aint hard to flick a switch.

You missing the point. It's nothing to do with rf address. They only have 5 time switching points ! On off on off on......
Honeywell have 6 !!! On off on off on off 🙂

:grin::grin:

Us plumbing and heating engineers have something we like to call a conciense. This may be alien to the sales industry?
