Adamant Custard but lots of £££'s

Well what a strange day, I got a call from a customer last night who lives in Kildwick (nr Skipton) who having boiler issues. Explained I was busy last night, but as I have nothing on today - I would call over first thing.

Arrived 8am, diagnosed boiler issue within 30 minutes and rang around a few suppliers - nobody had the part in stock but a place in Doncaster did - I explained situation to him but he was adamant he wanted it doing today (Going away tomorrow, but wasn't willing to leave keys with anyone) so as I had nothing on I agreed that he paid my mileage + time for the trip.

In the end I charged him 3 hours worth of driving, plus 112 miles plus 20% of the parts and 2 hours actually spent on the job.

Now I'm sat at home, feet up with a beer in hand. Weekend drink on me I think....

How long is he going away for? He's not hibernating for the winter in some far off more temperate climate is he?!?

Not at all mate, it's still quite mild up here - he was away for 3 weeks. He is just one of those fussy customers, same every year I service the boiler.

Only 120 miles today

Belfast to meet a supplier and discuss ventilation issues with him, degas and make safe an LPG line for the welders to modify.
Then onto Downpatrick to test and light a 250kw biomass ready for the heating season.
Then to Tandragee to test and inspect an LPG installation in a golf club.

Now have to sit and price a gas safety panel with gas proving and vent and extract interlocks.

And in a few weeks time I've my annual 3 day trip to Limerick, Cork and Waterford. 600 miles plus 2 nights in a Travelodge.....
