Hi all. I have recently been thinking about getting a wet vac as I am changing a lot of radiators at the moment. I haven't really used one before but a lot of people seem to favour them... Is it just a case of cracking a nut on the rad and instead of draining the water out into tubs below the valve popping the wet vac over the tail and sucking all the water out or am I missing something? Thanks Alex.

yeah, you can use it like that if you need to, i prefer to drain as much as i can with hoses, then use the wet vac to get the rest out.

Its great for getting water out of boilers when your changing them, water out of pipes under the floor before you solder, cleaning header tanks out and mopping up spills,

Ive had the wickes own brand but soon grew to hate it, no handle, too loud. I then spent a bit of money on a much better one

Niflisk alto aero 25-21 which is worth its weightt in gold!

Having used one now for two years, i would not go back to working without one, all those years i struggled!

Ok, thanks for the reply. So they are able to take quite a bit of water then... I'm just thinking that it would make draining a radiator etc.. much much quicker than draining normally. Cheers Alex.

I've got the wickes one, came recommended on here. Use it a few times a week can do wet and dry but I only use the wet function. Any job I go on where's the possibility of spillage it goes in with me. (that'll be most jobs then 😀). Can't complain for £40.

Reconditioned Karcher is £23.99 on their website, £5.99 for delivery. Expect its similar to the Wickes one. Im about to buy a pressure washer for £39.99. Would get the hoover but I already have a George. Had Numatic vacuums for 30years and cant fault them. I think the one in my van is 20+ years old.

I use a wet vac most days when i'm changing rads, makes life a lot easier and it gets you out of trouble if you have a leak while your rooting through your bag for a speedfit cap

Bit of 1 1/4 4' long shoved in to end of vac pipes makes the dregs of a cylinder disappear after u syphoned it all out.

For the money, this is a quality wet vac
