Only had problems with air locks on viessmen and Vaillant heat only boiler but this all was due to there main heat exchanger

Cdi is more like 59kg! Back breaker 🙁

As for the cdi boiler. It's sequence is 8 minutes pump purge ( two circles) and 15 minute syphon fill (2 dashes ) for 15 minutes.

i normally let the pump purge do its thing, but the minimum output condense fill tends to drag! Out comes the installer manual, and turn it off! Fires up to maximum straight away!
Cdi I put them on on let them take there time , same time we just pack up all tool and clean up

I notice Worcester keep changing there condense siphon inside the boiler... On the cdi classic its a right pig to get in & out now grrrr

59 kilos is not that heavy.
Put it into perspective. Bags of cement used to be sold in ctw bags (50kg) before the elf and safety turned everyone into a *****.
I was bench pressing 100lb when i was 12 and 220 when i left school and gave that rubbish up and started humping concords and e types up 5 and 6 flights of stairs
Then again, netaheats are harder to take down now than they were to put up 30 odd years ago

It always was. Why do they make it so big?

Just a guess, but maybe they have increased the siphon discharge quantity after all that frozen condensate malarkey... The new cdi all the wires seem so tight so its all in the way...

Fitted one today and was just thinking they had made the bstd bigger on the bottom. Had to unplug the gas valve and hw sensor to get it out.

Are you talking about when the heating is put on it's in go slow mode for 20 mins, every time? Noticed this myself on the last couple of CDis i've put in have done this.

Hold down the chimney sweep button and it will go to full rate for 15 minutes then revert back to the go slow nonsense. Same if you turn the power off and back on. A pita really.

That is what I do too I unplug gas and pump and then do the work there

Baxi platinum, same as duo-tec i think? Really easy to fit! And really easy to fix/change parts.

Regarding my problem it was in its self purge mode for over a hour when its supposed to turn off in 20mins

Platinum easy as owt. Loosen all the taps on jig and point them down before I hang boiler, do gas first then work out. When u out it on jig u will need to pull it forward and poke condensate behind jig. Filling loop is a pain in rse .

My favourite boiler are the ones the trainees fit. Just sit back and pick fault...... Some backchat tho , flick hot flux at them for it!

I wish some one would make a take off for the external stat. Just annoying plugging into l&n when already wires in there!

I'm doing one tomorrow for a British gas employee!! He's a fitter according to the surveyor .... I think something fishy?
