UFH Pump Question - Do I need it?

We have a three zone heating system plus water cylinder (OSO Super S 250L) on an Valliant EcoTec 637. Two CH zones and a UFH zone. Boiler is rarely at maximum power rating, even at full tilt. The UFH zone has it's own pump and the other two zones (three storey house) are just pumped from the...

    Dropped Zone from Heatmiser UH8-RF

Thanks. I have factory reset and the NeoStat pairs with the UH8-RF (or claims to). When I trigger the NeoStat in person or via the app nothing happens on the UH8-RF - no lights or anything different. How do I assign the NeoStat to a particular zone as they are just numbers in the wiring.

    Dropped Zone from Heatmiser UH8-RF

I have a Heatmiser UH8-RF controlling my underfloor heating, connected to the NeoHub with three zones with NeoStat v1 thermostats. This is about 3 years old now and when setup everything was installed worked fine. All the main current functions work - I can control the UFH with the app and it...

    Leaking Shower Valve

Anyone able to help with this?

    Leaking Shower Valve

I have a leak coming from the bath/shower/off switch on the attached shower valve. The leak is coming from what looks like a rubber washer behind a brass retaining clip. I've not removed the retaining clip as if I make the leak worse I won't be able to switch the water back on. Any ideas with...

    Possible fault two-port valve

It was the motor on the two-port valve. Bought a new one from ScrewFix and clipped on just the actuator to the existing valve, wired it up and it works a treat again. Thank you for the advice.

    Possible fault two-port valve

Great! Thanks for that! Checked and the actuator head does clip off easily. The head says Flomasta 8982G which seems to be a identical to the 27900SX in Screwfix for £55. Will give that a try. Fingers crossed.

    Possible fault two-port valve

Would I just get away with replacing the actuator or is it a whole replacement unit and need to drain the system? I'm confident I can replace an actuator, but might leave draining the system to a pro!

    Possible fault two-port valve

Hoping you guys can help confirm the diagnosis of a fault before I call a plumber. I've lost heating to the upstairs zone on my heating sysem. System boiler is working fine feeding two other zones and the hot water. The zone is connected via a Nest, which is saying its calling for heat but...

Burning Smell and Flames on Electrical Immersion

Thanks. I'll get the immersion replaced. Out of interest - what sort of fault would cause that sort of issue? i.e. flames around the contacts?

Burning Smell and Flames on Electrical Immersion

I have a smell of burning from the immersion on hot water cylinder. The overheat pin had popped out, but when I popped it back in and switched on there were tiny smouldering flames around one of the contacts where the thermostat connects to the immersion. Separately I've replaced the timer as...

    Immersion Cover Nuts

Hi, I've just bought two new plastic covers for cylinder immersion heaters as they are both missing on the cylinder. Does anyone know what the thread size for the small securing nuts that I need to attach the covers to the immersion? Thanks

    Central Heating Flow Rate (Rads+UFH)

I have a house over three floors with three heating zones. Ground floor is UFH and newish, the 1st and second floor are radiator zones. Historically the radiators don't get very hot on the top floor, however I've just switched them on for the first time since last winter and they are the best...

    Flow/Return Colour Codes

Are the any standard colour-codes or conventions for labeling central heating, water and gas pipes? I'm looking at insulating the pipes in my cellar and am considering marking up the flow/return and H/C water pipes as I'm going along. Appreciate that yellow is for gas and possibly red/blue for...

    Water Supply 'Tripping'

The PRV is is part of the cylinder and regulates the pressure on both the hot cold - the cold supply connects through it. The stopcock is the right way round.

    Water Supply 'Tripping'

Thanks for the replies. Before I start dismantling things does you guys know if any of the components listed could cause this sort of fault? Its a regular brass stopcock (this one), not a Surestart. Is this a possible fault with this sort of tap? Can a check valve (this one) cause this sort...

    Water Supply 'Tripping'

Really odd problem with my cold water supply stopping abruptly with flow suddenly halting with a water hammer. I've been doing loads of work on upstairs bathroom and have been switching the water off and on a number of times over the last month to plumb in new toilet, sinks, shower, bath etc...
