Caleffi Pressure reduction valve causing noise

Could be the flow rate is so low for the size of valve it's bouncing. Have you got a straight run of pipe after the prv to stop it reflecting back and forth and resonating? Ps I'm not a qualified engineer.

    washing machine waste pipe

That is a good point, the actual waste pipe has to have the right falls etc, but before the air break you can do what you like within the manufacturers instructions. Some machines have optional extensions to the hous as long as you don't go too far above the machine base or vice versa.

    washing machine waste pipe

Slope isminimum 18mm per metre. Only guttering can be laid level but it does affect the capacity. Falls Must be carried through any junctions or branches. Minimum pipe size would be 50mm but you might get away with 40 if you include an aav, and all other aspects of the system have good falls...

    combi boiler, pressure continuously increasing.

Try turning off the cold feed for a while and turning on a hot tap to release the pressure. Could simply be **an internal component related to hot water costing around 150 pounds** although you need someone to fit it. *Edited to not name the component just in case

    washing machine waste pipe

Even if you're in the right part of the span, there's no way to notch a 50mm waste into normal depth joists and meet building regs let alone get the right fall over 3m distance. Boxing in above or below or in our case i dropped it straight down to the ground floor and ran out under the suspended...

Mouldy / Rotten smell around boiler

Probably wafted through the cupboards to the boiler area, can we have a photo of any waste pipes in the cupboards nearby, also can you look under the plinth if it's removable.

risk from a copper pipe with little support?

The main risk i can see would be repeated movement from the water hammer especially in the washer hose would eventually weaken and crack the pipe. Good idea to fix it.

    washing machine waste pipe

There wouldn't be an issue if the existing wastes are installed correctly with falls and ventilation correct and not blocked and the combined pipe is increased to 50mm, but it may not be worth the hassle if there is another way round it. The only time it would come in the bath would be if the...

Nightmare time with Worcester Bosch repairs

Just to pick up where the other John left off, under normal working conditions the two will be identical. It's only setting the initial charge that it needs to be only air in there. Once your charge is set correctly and confirmed correct, you only need to worry about the overall system pressure...

Did I get ripped off? - Shower mixer replacement by local plumber

There's only a need to replace the broken part otherwise there would be a lot more cost for making good, but that does look a bit low for a wall mounted mixer shower. Normally at that height the hose comes out the top. If you want to have the wall plate replaced too you could specify that but it...

Nightmare time with Worcester Bosch repairs

That's not true as water is incompressible for all practical purposes. The only bit that can expand when water is lost is the air in the expansion vessel. That will have been a specific case where the expansion vessel no longer had any water in it. At the moment when the last water leaves the...

first prototype unvented cylinder! did you report it?

Pulled out washing machine, this is what we found.

Correction, NHBC scheme once the builders finished the snagging is not a warranty for the buyers, it's purely for the mortgage company. Only the first couple of years get a warranty on basic problems that don't really affect the value, the remainder is only the structural side i.e. things that...

    Speed fit reducer disaster

I've (for DIY) had some trouble with weeping compression joints onto plastic (copper olive, correct insert) so I avoid where possible and use a length of copper into the next speedfit connector, it's easy enough and the speedfit connectors handle copper no trouble. Personally I think speedfit...

Fixed “2 litre per minute underfloor leak”. Thank for advice.

Oh yeah bath waste! My eyes and perspective didn't go correctly together! Worth supporting anyway and prevent stress on the connections.

Pressure reducing valve - is this normal?

Based on the described symptoms, either of you could be right, or both. it could be either a partial blockage of the supply or a restriction in the prv so as per the previous posters start to dismantle and see what flow you get through the upstream pipe

Fixed “2 litre per minute underfloor leak”. Thank for advice.

What's supporting that floor board other than the pipe? And you should get that soil pipe supported too, it's straining the socket at an angle as it is.

    stopcock found after 30 years!

Our outdoor one was down a hole and didn't shut the water off significantly, got the water board to fit a meter for free which comes with a shut off. No idea how they fitted it without getting soaked though. In your case op i would just replace that one and replumb it outside of the wall too for...

I did try to look it up but can't find it any more, sorry about that.

Advice really appreciated on hot water temperature

It will, and that's the recommended design drop for new systems, but it will also work to other temperature differences depending on the conditions present in the system. condensing isn't a binary thing like that, there's a lot of energy returned in the condensation, over 10% more. It's the...
