Hi There
Moved into a new build recently. Noticed that when I turn on the cold tap in the kitchen a pump in the attic seems to activate which would indicate that the cold tap in the kitchen is not fed directly by mains (however i am not a plumber so could be wrong)
Prior to noticing this pump...
I want to put in an electric shower in my downstairs cloakroom which currently has a gravity fed cold supply from the tank in the loft. The shower I am looking to install needs a mains fed cold supply which I could do by disconnecting this pipework from the gravity tank and connecting the cold...
I just rented a top floor flat which is a roof conversion built only 10 years ago and after moving in, i found out that inside the largest storage eaves, there is a communal water tank which serves only the 6 other flats below except mine .

Hi folks,
Newbie here.
I'm having trouble connecting the washing machine hot and cold water valve to the below sink. As you can see in the picture, the valve is already connected to the sink above it. I would like to confirm whether I need to unbolt the below hex cap so that I can connect the...
Both showers/baths have either very hot or very cold or no cold water at all. Problem fixed itself for a couple months then came back yesterday. The pressure drops for a few seconds with waves of water from shower head. Hot water heater only 9 months old. All other faucets work normally...
I have a single lever pull out kitchen faucet installed. The tap takes a hot and cold water connection, the cold is from the mains so is at a higher pressure. The hot is from the system boiler so is at a lower pressure. It seems to me that when I open the tap, the cold water is forcing its way...
why is 10mm pipe not used for taps/toilet outlets?
Why do I need the same diam pipe at the wash basin or toilet as I do at the bath or shower?
I can't think of a reason why not so before I implement this, have I missed something that's not so obvious to a layman?

Hi all,
I'm having an issue with the cold tap in my upstairs bathroom. There is barely a trickle of water coming out, while the hot water tap is running fine. I'm not having any problems with any other cold taps in my house.
A Google search suggests that there may be an airlock in the system...

Hi all. My customer has a bath shower mixer that gets cold from the mains and hot from a vented cylinder and the cold knocks out the hot. I'm thinking about putting in a thermostatic bath shower mixer but would appreciate any other ideas! Cheers all/
Hi all,
Hot water only lasts 2 - 3 minutes, if I turn it off for a minute hot water returns for a couple more minutes. It seems to last longer on a lower pressure. We had a plumber change the heat exchanger which didn’t make a difference. And it’s not the thermal mixer in the shower as we had...
