We have a Firebird oil boiler, 35kw and have recently started getting issues regarding condensate or lack of it. Long story as short as possible.
Boiler running without any issues for 2 plus years, unusual smell from it turns out to be plastic condensate trap melted. Looked into problem and it's...
Hey guys and girls,
Been a while since I posted in here, but I went on and bought the NVQ books and some tools and started doing the plumbing on the kitchens and bathrooms that I fitted, so learning more everyday. Plus the pro plumber I use has been very helpful showing me tricks and techniques...
Hi, I have got a combi boiler with a condensate pump. I have found my boiler twice turned off electrically with the led display off. When I touched the pump the boiler turned on suddenly and the hot water started working again. Any ideas what could cause this? Thank you very much!
Hi all
Is it normal for the flue outlet to be dripping water onto the outside drive and window sill when its running, i say no as the condensate should run back into the internal drain.
Views much appreciated.
Has anyone seen it become an issue where a boilers condensate pipe. Is tee'd in to a 40mm waste pipe that also takes say a sink waste. And the waste pipe pulling the trap out of the boiler as the sink discharges?
Any idea why the condensate trap on a one year old ideal boiler would have so much sediment in it as seen in the picture? On other one year old boilers of the same model on this estate the condensate trap is clear. In the one in the picture there is also sediment in the black pipe that connects...
Can anyone advise on the chances of Legionella existing in the condensate pools from a Victorian steam engine, please? The pool temperatures range from cold to fresh steam condensate and they are very large, dirty and open to the atmosphere...
I can't put my finger on it now, but I saw a post where someone asked about connecting the condensate flexi from a boiler to fixed 19/21 overflow pipe.
One reply was just to slide the flexi over the end of the fixed overflow but as I recall "KOP" recommended a McAlpine compression...
Getting confused with how to route and terminate condensate pipes.
My gas manual shows a diagram with the condensate pipe connected upstream of a washbasin trap.
Baxi's manual does "not recommend", in caps, to connect upstream of the sink and its diagram shows the connection downstream of the...
Hi there,
I am not a plumber, but wondered if any plumbers out there could help? My dad is also not a plumber by trade (although has plumbed plenty) and is a bit stuck with this one. Basically, there was a leak coming from underneath our floor-standing Worcester Greenstar CDi boiler, which...
Hi - the external condensate pump at home has died a death, leaving me with a little puddle. It seems quite an old one - labelled "Pro" - it's about shoe box size, holds maybe 2l. Tried cleaning it out, but alas no pressure from pump. If anyone has a recommended pump I'd be pleased to hear about...
What would be the rough cost I would pay for a new condensate trap in a vaillant ecotec 28 boiler, the hose is split inside. Is it a big job to do? How many hours should it take. i have got someone coming to have a look at it. thanks
Hi guys.
I installed a vokera vision which I've done many times just before Christmas and have had to return a few times with the condensate trap not emptying never has this before. Just takes a shake of the trap while still attached and it empties. The pipe run is clear and I've taken the...
Hi I have an Alpha cd28c combi boiler,it stopped running hot water, heating was ok.New diverter valve and motor fitted.Boiler now continually losing pressure overnight.New Pressure Relief Valve fitted still loses pressure, new Auto Air Vent fitted and now pipe feeding condensate trap dripping...
My condensate waste has only frozen up once and caused the boiler to switch off, this was on a particularly cold night. I thought of the following way of stopping the boiler switching off in the event of it freezing up again. The pipe drops out of the boiler vertically and then runs horizontally...
Just recently I have found a small flood under my kitchen sink, and found that there is a build up of water from the pipe under the sink from the condensate pipe to flow into the drain.
There is nothing wrong with the drain, as the pipe is connected to the main sink drain and the water flows...
