Hi all,
At our old flat, we had a combi boiler which dealt with heating and hot water without an additional tank. There was an external timer next to the boiler, and a room thermostat (manual) in the hallway. I was able to replace the latter with a receiver and wireless (not smart) thermostat...
Good day - apologies if similar questions have been asked before but I have no real knowledge of plumbing and heating so thought I would try here to see if members might be able to help me.

Hi plumbing hives

I currently heat it for an 1.30 at 7 a.m. in the morning and then for 3 hours at 6pm till 9pm
I actually wasn't sure this is the best way to heat it as I've read you should leave it for 6 hours...

Good morning,
I have a Kingspan Tribune XE (TXN210) indirect unvented cylinder in my property (installed in 2020, in a new build property) and I am trying to understand what I originally suspected was a leak from the HW system.
My cylinder is heated twice a day on 2 x 30 minute cycles, this...
We have a hot water cylinder problem. The hot water from the boiler (system boiler, gravity fed, C Plan) goes into the cylinder in the middle after the 2-way valve, but the temperature at exit at the bottom is always at least 20 degrees C lower. It at best warms the water in the cylinder, or, if...

unvented hot water cylinder in a roof space of a two storey house in an existing property what is best option for discharge pipe to terminate. It will be 22mm copper but didn't want to run it all the way down the back of the house to ground level if possible.
I want to fit a sussex flange to a standard hot water cylinder about 10 years old, normally there is a 1inch bsp tapping, this one has a male thread out of the top with a compression 28mm to 22 mm end feed reducer, held in place by a 28mm nut and olive, it does not have a male iron to copper...
Has anyone experienced this before. Converted gravity hot water to new unvented cylinder (150l indirect evocyl) filled the cylinder up and had yellow water for about half an hour before it started to clear. Any ideas from anyone. I’m G3 registered. Was converted due to suspected split coil in...
Hi All,
Hoping someone can help me in working out how to stop the hot water from my hot water cylinder as there is no valve to do so from the top of the boiler.
Also what are the valves 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D' & 'E'?
The valve at the bottom of the boiler is seized, but I am hoping 'A' might be the...
Hi All,
We want to replace vented with unvented cylinder but cannot find any decent plumber in North West London to carry out the works.

Not sure what to do now.
Currently have...
Hi, 1st fixing a house. Im looking at the blow valve for an unvented cylinder There's no external wall near the hotpress so I'm gonna run a waste pipe under the floor. It'll have a tundish so they can see if it's discharging.
What I'm wondering is if I can then tee that waste in with the pipe...
I've just bought a Victorian house that needs renovation. Currently there is a boiler and hot water tank in the cellar, and tanks in the loft.
I'd like to have an unvented cylinder installed in the cellar, but the plumber I got in said that it needs to have access to an open drain.
There is a...
My house (old) has a heating system installed with a Protech Anti corrosion system, I don't know how old the cylinder is, which is showing signs of rust from around the Protech box! I can see the outside skin of the cylinder is thin mild steel, but thought the core was stainless steel? Is such...
