Boiler is working but out the blue is goes off.
Controller is working, receiver is working, can see it clicking and red light flashes when I move thermostat up and down. If I override hot water, boiler fires up but nothing for heating. Boiler is Worcester Greenstar, 2 yrs old. Brand new...
Hi guys,
We have an open vented heating system and a Worcester Bosch greenstar boiler. Recently there is little to no heat getting to all radiatiors.
It seems that when we turn on the nest heating the boiler starts whirring as expected as then dies down quite fast.
I cleaned the magna filter...
My bathroom underfloor heating is not working.
It does work in the other rooms except bathroom.
What could be reason ? I completely closed bathroom thermostat and re opened it still doesn’t respond.
I have a strange fault with a Vaillant EcoTec combi-boiler.
It's 100% reliable whenever the heating is called for, ie. by the room-stats.
It's also 100% reliable when hot water is called for, ie. hot tap or shower, as long as the heating isn't running at the time. But if the heating is already...
I have an Ideal combi isar HE 24. Heating works perfectly but hot water does not at all.
Turn any hot tap on and water gets luke warm after about 10 seconds then boiler disengages and water gets cold again.
Been told it could be thermistor, or a couple of other things. Can anyone please help?
Hi. We have a wolf oil central heating system, with a grundflos alpha 2 circulation pump. Sometimes it makes a tinkle noise ( like metal to metal) and sometimes not. With and without burner running. I removed pump and impeller is ok and clean. Bled system through. Nothing helps.
I will start by saying I am not a plumber but I have learnt loads thanks to people on here. I am currently having an issue with heating & Hot Water. It is working but I have to do certain things to make it work each day. The question is about the 2 gate valves in the picture. Valve number 1 and...
I'm going to be helping a friend renovate his bathroom. He has a coal heating system will he be able to continue using his fire whilst we work on the water and heating pipes once the stopcock has been isolated? Will it be ok to drain some hot water out the tank and relocate radiator pipes
Hi Guys,
my pressure gauge showing nearly (if not) 0 Bar. Heating downstairs works for now, upstairs 2 out of 5 rads not.
I'm trying to get a plumber in but it will take few days, have kids home and afraid to end up with no heat. I believe all what it needs is get pressure back to 1 bar but...
Hopefully a quick question:
I have bought a new house and had a few issues with the CH system (they connected the valves for the two zones to the wrong thermostats which has now been fixed) but have now come across something that doesn't make sense to me. I have a downstairs cloakroom (toilet)...
Hi. I'm new to this forum and just looking for some advice if someone could please help. I'm trying to fit a Drayton smart heating system and I'm unsure how to wire one of the components which I believe is known as the programmer or controller. There is one that was originally fitted with the...
There is a noise, like a buzz that starts randomly but usually in the early morning. I can't seem to pin it down to one location. I have managed to record the noise and there is a link to YouTube if I'm able to post that? My heating and hot water are both on a gas central heating system, but...
Hello everyone,
We have recently moved to the UK, so really don't know much about gas central heating and boilers over here etc. So this is probably a very basic question but I just don't know!
We are moving to a house later this month. It has a "wall-mounted gas-fired boiler for domestic hot...
Hello,
I'm a fairly adept DIYer but I have an issue with my plumbing and not entirely sure what's left to check.
I have an unvented indirect system with 1 hot / 1 heating zone, cylinder is a Range Tribune HE 150L pre-plumbed.
For quite a while now I've had a problem where after the hot water...
Happy New Year everyone!
I need a little help on figuring out what's wrong with my central heating (CH) system. I'm in a new house, and I know the system has a single motorised diverter valve for hot water and radiators (rads). Problem is almost none of my rads get hot, except for 2 or 3 that...
I have a 320 sqft double storey house with 6 bedrooms. The house is serviced by two heat only boilers (non condensing); a 120k btu (35kw) and a 70k btu (20kw). Both Boilers are installed at ground floor (120k at front and 70k at the back). Front boiler serving front downstairs and upstairs rooms...
Would love some advice please:
I had 4 radiators replaced in September as part of a kitchen refit. This included new copper piperwork behind the walls where the Rads are placed. The system wasn’t flushed or anything, just installed and the plumber left.
A few weeks later we noticed that our...
Hi Guys
Im aware the say you should keep 15mm runs supplying radiators to 12 metres. However if running one rad from a manifold, how much can I get away with?
Im not holding a gun to your head. One of my runs has to be just over 13 meters.
Thanks in advance.
Donkey.
Is underfloor heating much better than radiators for a largish open plan space? The room is 46 m sq, L shape open plan space with 4.6m of bifolds and another 2m and 3m run of bifold on the L, pitched roof on 3m of the space meaning a bit more than standard ceiling height there, total volume of...
