Hi All,
Has anyone got or used one of those new fangled electric pipe benders?
Something like the Rotherberg Robend or something yellow from REMS?
Many thanks!
Hi all,
I need to connect my bath drainage to my new soil pipe. I have only one spare entry to boss into the pipe at the very bottom (see photo). As the inital entry out the wall will be on a gradient I was wondering if there was a combination of elbows I can utilise to get a 90 degree vertical...
Hi Folks,
Would like to cast the net far and wide to try and get some resolution to this problem. The mains water coming into the property via a 15mm copper pipe, I have a Worcester Bosch Heatslave 15/19 around 16 yrs old to which the mains goes into - just above the boiler our plumber fitted a...
Would a one pipe system work efficiently on a condensing boiler as the return type would likely be below 54c all the time. So the boiler would run in condensing mode. Alot of condensing boilers don't run in condensing mode.
I have a threaded galvanised tube between 2 T-pieces. I can’t screw the t-pieces onto the tube - they’re already sealed to the spur. So the only way I can screw the pipe between them is to screw it all the way into one side then screw it halfway into the other (by unscrewing from the first end)...
I'd be grateful for some advice please.
I'm doing a stable conversion which requires a secondary circulatory system. The plumber (yes, he is qualified) initially didn't realise this and when questioned, didn't actually appear to know what a secondary system was! He did come back to install one...
In my attempt to future proof my underfloor heating design to maximise the heat output at the lowest possible mean water temperature, I am planning pipe 16mm dia pipe centres at 133mm governed by the nature of the installation (3 pipes per space between floor supports at 400 mm ctrs. -...

Hi everyone, for the last few months ive had a random banging on the mains water pipe. This happens when nothing is being used, no taps, no washer, no toilet flush no boiler etc. Just a random banging and i can feel it vibrate allway through to mains pipe on the boiler.

What is the internal diameter of a steel pipe with external diameter of 43mm or 1.7"? Below is a photo if that helps. This was installed before 1975 and is being used for communal hot water.

Hi everyone,
I've recently moved into a new property and had a lot of interference on our TV and Audio equipment, following advice I had our earth changed from PME to 8ft rod and it improved a lot but is still not perfect (the theory is the big factory located near our property is putting...
Hi,
I have some damp moving up the walls and the floor is risen in one place also.
I got someone to take a couple of pics with a thermal camera.
Does the brightly glowing circle look like it's a leaking heating pipe?
The blue circle is where the glow is on the thermal image and the red...
Hi,
I'm wondering what is the best way to add an access point to both the existing soil pipe and waste pipe from my ensuite bathroom in the picture below?
Shower is draining slowly for the last month or two and now the toilet is clogging so better to tackle it now I suppose.
For the waste...
Hi,
I ask this question following a little DIY job to clear out my bathroom sink traps. Having got a slow draining sink I unscrewed the two connections (one to sink and one down to waste) and remove the trap and cleaned everything out as best I could.
Everything seems to have gone back...
Hi,
We're in the process of upgrading 2 bathrooms in our house: the ensuite and the family bathroom. These adjoin one another. The ensuite is largely done so has all piping in situ. The ensuite required that we feed its soil pipe through the wall into the family bathroom, where it angles...
We have a problem with a downstairs bathroom toilet. When flushed, the water in the bowl rises, as does the water coming up from the shower drain. The water then drops quite quickly, accompanied by a rumbling, gurgling noise....
Suspecting a blockage in the soil pipe leading from the bathroom...
